What EasyPM does with your data

This is a plain-English summary, not the binding privacy notice.

The full notice is being prepared with legal review under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and will replace this page when it is ready. This page describes what the product actually does today, in full, so you can decide whether to take part.

What we hold

  • Your account — name, email address, phone number, and a password we never see in readable form.
  • Your properties — addresses and coordinates, units, rents, and the bank account you want rent paid into.
  • Your tenants — whatever you collect when you onboard them: identity details including NIN, employment and income, next of kin, guarantor, uploaded ID documents, a passport photograph and a signature.
  • Money records — invoices, receipts, and proof-of-payment you approve.
  • An activity log — who did what and when, including the values before and after a change. It is append-only and cannot be edited.

Who can see it

Your data is walled off from every other landlord at the database level, not merely in the app. Caretakers and co-managers you add see only what you switch on for them. A managing agent working across several landlords cannot see one owner’s records from another owner’s account.

EasyPM staff can reach data where it is necessary to operate or support the service. Access of that kind is logged.

What we do not do

  • We never hold your rent. It goes from your tenant to your own bank account.
  • We do not take a percentage of what you collect.
  • We do not sell your data, or your tenants’ data, to anyone.
  • We do not verify NINs against any government source today, so what is stored is what your tenant typed and uploaded.

Your tenants’ rights

Tenants did not choose EasyPM — you did. Under the NDPA they can still ask what is held about them, ask for corrections, and ask for erasure. Some records, such as receipts and served notices, are a legal history and are kept for as long as the law requires. How erasure works alongside that retention is being settled with our lawyers, and we would rather say so than give you a confident answer we cannot keep.

Questions

Ask us directly and we will answer honestly, including where the honest answer is that we are still working it out.
